May Challenge
May is National Bike Month! Biking is a great way to get exercise and reduce your carbon footprint.
Basic challenge
Ride your bike somewhere (anywhere!).
May 15 is National Bike-to-Work Day. Consider riding your bike to work, school,
or anywhere else you’d normally drive. Don’t forget your helmet,
and be sure to brush up on your bike safety before heading out!
Advanced challenge
Ride your bike to work once a week
Ride your bike to work once a week, and consider the benefits you’ll
get from regular exercise and less money spent on gas! In addition, you won’t
have the added hassle of finding a parking space once you get to work! Kirk’s
Bike Shop downtown and Hardin’s on South Walnut Street have many safety
accessories for bike commuters, such as pant leg protectors, reflectors, lights
(a must at night), and bells. Send us your stories and thoughts about biking
to work here.
